Christmas 2012

Yes, I realize it is April and I am posting Christmas pictures. Oh well! This year was a little different. Dusty and I spent Christmas in Olympia together. We attended to Christmas Eve service at our church and spent time with old/new friend, the Arendts and Spohns. We woke up pretty early Christmas morning and opened our presents, then skyped with family. Around 1, we went to our church, which is in downtown Olympia, and volunteered. The church opens its doors on Christmas day and offers a warm place for people to come in, relax, watch movies, drink hot chocolate and coffee, and eat yummy food. Being around people who live on the streets or who are not as fortunate as we are was definitely eye opening, especially on Christmas where we had just eaten a yummy, warm breakfast in a warm house with the fire going and opened presents. Dusty and I are definitely blessed with what we have and it was a great experience. We had Christmas dinner with our friends Sally and Peter and Sally's mom, sister and brother. Mrs. Spohn fixed barbequed crab (like the entire crab), salad, and garlic bread. It was so cool. They lined the table with newspapers, wash cloth napkins and bibs. It was a very messy meal but very good too! We spent some time with Dusty's parents after Christmas into the New Year. It was a great Christmas overall! Enjoy the pics!
